Not such a good turn out this week with an eventual 12 harriers.
However there were good reasons for the others - there were ?!!
The trail had been laid by Malcolm Gough and David Young who produced
a varied and well laid hash. We started off sliding down hill
into a muddy field which was just an opening test to see if Niel's
knee would hold out. We then found ourselves scaling paddy bunds
3 ft high up the other side - a check after which we nearly cut
off an unpleasant loop but the hares were watching and kept us
to the straight and narrow. Down again into another ravine and
a check. The trail when found led up a river bed which by this
time we were too tired to do more than plod upwards. A week's
boozing in Hong Kong had ruined Keith's wind and he and Niel decided
to take it easy!! The trail now crossed the Budhanilkantha School road and dropped again into a ravine. It was time to turn home but the trail followed by some led on into the distance. Hakan who obviously know the |
area, sped round the base of the hill and was soon well in the lead when he picked up the home trail. Neil and Keith who had gone on ahead to get the beer ready (albeit without the key to Derek's Landrover) watched the returning heroes circle round behind the cars and come in down the road. A very good run - however as nothing is ever perfect - the checks need to be longer now that we are so experienced -- I never get a rest!!! Darkness fell on a cheerful drinking crowd. Fredrik was hauled away by his nearest and dearest for a five week leave - I hope he will be strong enough to resume Hashing on his return. The rest put away quite a few ales before calling it a day? night, and left to explain the lateness of hour to wives. NEXT HASH 10 DECEMBER AT 4.30 PM At the entrance to the Kirtipur University off the ring road. If in doubt ask Barron or Millbank. |
