Himalayan Mens Hash Run No 0011 Monday 7 January 1980
Location Ring Road between Balaju and Maharajganj Hares Pagella and Eric Cruikshank
Hashit Apparently not awarded Scribe Robinson Hashers 12

After the long eating and drinking break for Christmas and the New Year we wondered how many hashers would be able to stagger to the start of the 1980 hashing season. The result was encouraging bearing in mind that at least three four members were still in the fleshpots of Europe. Although the actual numbers on any hash never seem to rise above 15 we have some thirty names on the book. Lets make an effort to crack the 20 mark - put aside your wife, waifs, work, wishful thinking, wallabys, wammerahs, warblings, warguls, wayzgooses, wenches, whelps, wherrys and whigmaleeries and anything else you might do on a Monday afternoon and get out on the HASH!! While on the subject, we wonder if the American Marines have given up fraternising with the Hash - we hope not, and look forward to some representation.

Hash No 11 was the coldest yet - the normal cheerful bunch discussing drink parties and hangovers, that collect before the ON ON, were seen to huddle in their cars right up to the last minute - Bring something warm to wear before and after! The hash was very well laid by Julian and Eric but even so half the hash got onto the wrong bank

of the river after the first check. On the second check they changed over only to be outsmarted by the hares who had crossed back over. The trail led up the first hill where we floundered around having lost paper. The hares standing on the river bank below - too tired to follow - yelled and gesticulated like two natives on the banks of the Suez Canal, one wondered if they would go the whole way! At last with help from enthusiastic locals we found paper and set off down to cross the stream (leapable for some). There followed a long run up a ditch used for many purposes, which kept one's eyes down and nimble of foot. Another hill -most walked up this 1 in 1 climb only to find a check on the top and the trail leading straight down. Some unkind thoughts were transmitted to the hares. Thereafter it was fairly straight to the cars. A good 45 minute run enjoyed by all.
Try not to run off before the beer, this is when you can learn the baser side of your fellow men and as the 'Tatler' world say 'be seen enjoying a joke with _____! Next week there will be hot rum punch and beer so drum up your alcoholic friends.
