Himalayan Mens Hash Run No 0014 Monday 28 January 1980
Location Maharajgunj turning on the Ring Road Hares Millbank and Barron
Hashit Apparently not awarded Scribe Robinson Hashers 13

The day started off with Colin arriving for paper at 8.45 am. Not enough was the cry, come back at 12.00. From 11.00 onwards Keith could be seen at the shredder destroying files, whilst David (errand hasher) whose job it is smiled happily. Anyway by 12.00 the paper was ready. A Plea here for the large Diplomatic bags to be returned to me ASP please, the Embassy has ran out. 3.00 pm a telephone call - Roger with booze was stranded at Jawalakhel no transport, Keith closed the office and set off - what does the Hash think the Defence Attache does on a Monday?

At last we were assembled on the ring road - the Aussies were late so was John W-S-. Remember if we have enough we will start on time. 4.45 pm and we were off. A slow start due [to] to a Nepalese Army sharp shooter who was positioned on the route - anyway eventually led by Gough, who has little to lose, we swept [past]. The run was judged a good one, a lot of ups and down in the gullies and checks, we really are getting expert at it now, well

done the hares Derek and Colin.

What were the highlights of this run? Was it Steve who could always be persuaded to go down into the gullies to look for paper and got it right once out of' four? Was it the well known hasher who having failed to find a path down on the call of ON ON was well placed when the perspiring hashers climbed back up the trail and was rested and ready to lead them forward? Was it Tony tip toeing past a bad tempered dog whispering On On? or John Perrott red of face and whiskers surveying yet another climb up and wondering what he had joined? Perhaps it was the inebriated Nepalese Youth being frog marched away down the ring road between Guy and Malcolm - well whatever it was it was a great hash, good rum punch and enjoyable evening.
