No Ian again Folks. It certainly
was an impressive gathering at the bridge although it was difficult to separate
the hashers from the spectators. David Young certainly did his best to make
somebody happy, although there have been few complaints about the fact that
nobody wants those lousy AustXXXXXan dollars. Only good convertible cash
next time Dave.
There was no doubt about it, Guy S. definitely was in the lead crossing the bridge. The route led off through the fields along narrow paths so we all followed each other in single file. Naturally when the leader got lost we all got lost. The hares were perhaps a little "long" with their checks. Don't forget fellows the new trail must start within 100 meters of the check. We crossed the river, got lost in the brickworks and generally spread ourselves all over the countryside looking for the new trail. We were observed by the marine hashing contingent arriving on Indian Airlines and at one time it looked as though they would have time to join us. David Loane obviously thought so, and he won the hashing prize for late arrival, turning up as the second beer was being drunk. However, David you at last got the "regular" hashing number of twenty, so good on you mate. Russel and Midgley have been marked down for special future observation as a result of' hashitable comments passe. It was a good agricultural hash and many thanks to the hares. |
We almost ran out of beer again, after only a modest drink or two. Incidentally why did everyone rush off? The joint hashmaster had a spare sack of ale in his car which saved the day. Good thinking that. The USM kindly made the bar available for continued ale drinking and showed us a blue movie called the Champ. Much appreciated by all - keep it up fellow. Now for the future. Hash No. 24 will be starting at the British Gurkha Transit Camp in Jawalakhel (Kieth and Roger). Hash 25 Bash (Roger and Mike). Hash No. 26 (Niel and Tony), Hash no. 28 (Fred and Steve). For Hash 25 Bash we start at Guys at 8.00 PM. Steak and Food (Roger Binks), Beer (Kieth), Wine (Julian), Film Derek, Hash Strip (Tony!!!) and that's about it. My guess at what you were telling me is that there will be 24 or so at the Bash. Sorry about delays in hash scribing. However continual lack of power is a problem. [The Logbook notes: "Disaster - ran out of beer (only to be saved by joint grandmaster). Worm = snake = Pagella who takes wife and kids off to Dharan rather than hash thrash."] |
