Himalayan Men's Hash Run No 0026 Monday 21 April 1980
Location The Ring Road by Swayambhu Hares Pagella and Nielsen
Hashit Russell Scribe Pagella

Turnout 21

The hash met near Swayambhu on the ring road and for once everyone was on time. The Austxxxxxxans were last of course but not, so it must be time for another "be kind to Australia" week.

The word was out that 'The Shirts" were in and a brisk trade was carried out by the Hashmaster, much to the interest of the general spectators. For your information we have asked the Hashsponsor (SNC) to pay the full cost and if they do we should be able to rebate some of the shirt costs in the form of free runs. However if they don't-------!

The devilish clever hares had laid an excellent trail with great skill and ingenuity. We had a Dacca hash visitor and a good field of about 23 (where is the book Joint Hashmaster?) and as an impartial observer the SNC member thought you all looked pretty good snaking off round the hill. It was the only time everyone got together for the run as the field soon spread out. The trail more or loss ran round the hill opposite Swayambhu and many an anxious glance was aimed at the top. Most of you thought you were going up there! The first half was on an incline round the side hill in and out of the houses and was a bit hot and hashitty, However with evening closing in and the country opening out the second half, mostly down hill, was almost enjoyable.

We are thinking of awarding the hash walking stick to some of our permanent walkers. The trouble is that competition for the award would be too intense. A nice drop of ale was enjoyed on the roadside. Tony enjoyed his so much that he dropped it. Unfortunately it was not Austrxxxxxn so rated a major Hashit. Off with his shirt the ceremonial water was poured and the award presented. Bring a towel fellows - it could be you next week.
