Turnout 26

We met at the usual gathering spot when Odd Socks is a hare. This is becoming such a boring routine that we really must ban him from being hare more than twice a year unless he mends his ways. Nevertheless 26 tuned up on the Ring Road near Chauni and in the end most regretted it, but that story is coming later. Next, we noticed the hares' muddy and blood encrusted ankles - leeches ahead boys. Finally, by the time we were about to go it was obvious that there were going to be no Marines and no beer - that will be dealt with also later. All in all a very auspicious start.

The first part of the trail followed closely that superb route of Hash No. 4 (needless to say laid by the Pagella/Russell combo) which will always be remembered as a classic. We were soon crossing the river and going up the escarpment, running west, then down the escarpment again, along the river bed, and then, we thought, a wide sweep back to the chariots. Our homing devices started to get upset however as we found ourselves going further and further out and we also realised that we weren't getting any rest. Yes lads, we have a new front runner who looks as if he is going to be every bit as tiresome as Scholey was. His name is Roger Woods and if anybody meets him on a dark night then cut his bloody legs off. For the next 3 km we continued to run through checks on a narrow path, up from the river, down to the next valley through bamboo, up again and hallelujah finally turning east back to the Ring Road. The way in was also part of an earlier trail, and could have been a separate hash grumbled Malcolm G.

By this time there was a distinct lack of enthusiasm to got back to the chariots knowing that there was no beer. We finally all shambled in and took off to the International Club to dull the pain in our limbs.

General consensus - too long a run. The Masters request runs to be limited to about 45 minutes
Hashit - to Odd Socks for not arranging the beer (and he a founder member too!)
Walking Stick - nobody
