Before Jackman gets up on his intellectual horse and tells me, yes I know fause pass is spelt faux pas. But its just that the fella who does the typing can’t speak fluent Gaelic like me (You have no idea – the criticism we scribes have to withstand). The ranting about the irregulars in last week’s report had some effect. I’m never here Sanday, I’ve broken my arm Clough, My wife’s back in shape Woods, and you know what’s wrong with me Stone turned up at the golf course car park to swell our members to 19. We started by running down the 9th fairway and then down into the army shithole where the inexperienced found the first check. The experienced didn’t go anywhere near the shithole but went across to the 2nd fairway where paper led us through Gaucher village to a check above the ring road. The experienced then found four false trails and got completely lost. Zonneveld (more about him later) pleaded complete inexperience with the hares and got led to paper in another shithole, this one about a ½ km long which eventually brought us onto the ring road near the old airport road. Now it must he said that this is the first time in 1½ years of hashing that Zonneveld has been out in front. It must be something to do with his new meat coloured shorts (at first we thought it was his bare arse ahead) and his calls of ON-ON and CHECKING make our horn sound like a feeble fart. Good to see you up there Jan. From the check we got paper west of the ring road and then we went in a wide loop to the banks of the Bagmati. Here we met DK who had already completed the course and was now running it backwards. He showed us the paper leading back towards the golf course and we had a final check and scramble around the airport earthworks before taking the road through the army barracks and back to the golf club. Lawrence P. was already in the bar supping our beer when we got back — almost hashitable. |
That was a good run by our veterans
Millbank and Schmidt. The first three checks and specially the false trails
at the second check were a lesson in real good trail laying.
We squatted in the peace of the golf club garden to listen to the tales of adventure of our heroes from Bangkok, Stone and Fallon. The temples, they said, palled in splendour beside some of the other erections they had seen. There was much talk about lady Nos. 26 and 41 which left us in anticipation of the slide show of their holiday to be shown after Run No. 84. Zonneveld then made his second first of the evening. He was first to leave. This is “be good to your wife” month in the Zonneveld household and he has asked for this to be published. But we all know your tune mate — you are just building up a few credits so you can stay out late drinking with Kedwell and Cruikshank for the rest of the year. Hashit — not awarded, so still officially with Fallon HASH NO. 83 - Start from Jerry’s bridge just past the entrance
to Budanilkantha School (where the metalled road becomes dirt) hares —
