Himalayan Mixed Hash Run No 1074 Saturday 25 September 1999
Location Lubhu Bridge Hares The Fox
Hashit Simon and FITD Scribe The Fox Hashers ?

The hash answer to the south asian federation games or never trust a talkative, energetic hash horror. Specially one with front teeth missing.

The hare contemplated a holding check in the centre of the Dasrath Stadium but wiser counsellors guided him out to Lubhu, safely out of harm's way. 11 serious runners made the trip. Subodh Pradhan was a little late, but wisely skipped check 1 and the first river crossing. He made it to check 3 before losing paper. MAGABYTE took over the "Shortcut Guide" job from the start and got Sherry, visitor from England, around check 1. The rest followed paper from the chariots along the river. Simon was first across the river and up to paper, continuing east through a brick factory. Simon almost found paper on the usual back check, but out of filial devotion he let ROTTER, and a herd of sheep ROTTER was chasing, get ahead. The front runners followed and soon the four fastest, including Simon who ignored the Hare's instructions to wait, charged off on the long loop to check 3. ROTTER and Luke led the pack, with the DESERT FOX, just back from his successful recy in the far west, and Simon following. The rest of the pack sat down under a tree and watched the runners. Simon lead the pack down and west to the road, and then south into Lubhu, not bothering to turn right on paper. FINGERINTHEDYKE was right with him and following along -- far from paper. The hare finally got them back and again, Simon, this time turning off paper, led the FINGERINTHEDYKE and friends into somebody's front yard. Now the stray runners were far behind but no matter. There was a good shortcut to aromatic check 4, a check late hasher Olivier would have been proud of. Again Simon guided the pack back and onto paper, this time heading west again and down to the river and check 5. CONDOM MAN II almost checked onto a shortcut but fell for the hare's "advice" and climbed the hill onto paper. MEGABYTE again took the

shortcutters north along the river. Check 6 was a backcheck which THE DESERT FOX quickly spotted. Again Simon positioned himself in front of FINGERINTHEDYKE and at the top of the rise carefully led the old man away from paper. Check 7 found the pack again next to the river. Three more crossings got them into the D.M. Brick Factory and on to the home circle. There was a slight munity after check 7, but the muntineers, who refused to again get their feet wet, had an extra long loop to cover to reach the beer, so there was no need for further punishment.

The circle, in a somewhat smelly location (but at least better than the check 4 location), was brief. We forgot to welcome returnee Mike Askwith back but can do that next week. The Hash Education Prize went to ROTTER who can now distinguish between a check and home circle.

The Hashit was shared by two people: 1. Simon (definitely unjustly) for leading old FINGERINTHEDYKE astray three times. This is really a great achievement for young Simon, because the GM has guided two HASH HORRORS through the "no front teeth" stage of life and should have known better. 2. for the following offences:
a. Following Simon.
b. Being unable to produce the HASHIT trophy.
c. Being unable to explain where the Hash Register is.

The Hashit should have gone to SLOWDRIP who had promised to come and for whom the many river crossings were designed.

The run was certainly more interesting than the SAF Games opening, though we give SAF first prize for the fire works.
