The first truly slushy hash of the monsoon offered the pack a taste of most of what monsoon trails have to offer. All that was missing was a river crossing involving swimming.

The pack headed south up the slippery motor road to check one in the quarry. The GM, who is NEVER wrong, claimed the mark to be a false trail X. Grumblewald blamed that on the rain. Paper took the pack down a good trail and again south. Rather than drop to the confluence of two streams, the hares made us dance along paddy field dikes, down across a stream and up onto the trail heading south towards Man Dhara. A loop brought the pack back to the top of the bank and check 2. Down we went to the stream and followed the left bank upstream a while, again looping through more slushy fields to check 3. Paper continued up the valley, more or less along the same stream's same left bank, to holding check 4. Finally we headed up to the north-east corner of the valley and check 5. The back check did not fool Hurry Krishna who led us north, down across another stream and then up and up to the Bishankhu Narayan Temple. Those who want their sins forgiven should slither up through a crack in the rock. Luckly the pack skipped this and took the steps up through the temple. Otherwise the sin removal process would probably have caused an earthquake. Holding check 6 was on a field above the temple. There we were re-united with the walkers. Paper headed down then north along a level trail, and again down to a motor road and check 6. This time we headed back and down on a good trail to check 7 at the bottom. Paper started somewhere and got up to the motor road leading back to the chariots.

Karl's first concern was that Juan Carlos was missing. So was Sock Sucker but the GM was not at all concerned, and perhaps relieved. Karl finally conscripted Guano to drive back looking for the boys who were busy rock collecting in the quarry. All were suitably rewarded.

Run Score 9.9!!!
9.0 for the classic Norwegian course design.
0.9 for managing to get the Danish labourers to lay the paper so well.
