Pleased to see that Calvin is not taking his down-down techniqe from mum. |
Don pulled a classic course from
the file. We've seen it all before but the hash slow learners had
no trouble falling for all the tricks. Paper headed south on pavement
until back check 1 got the back runners out in front and heading for
Thanagaon and then down to back check 2 before the Chobar bridge.
With memories of recent two hour workouts in mind, the pack presumed
the paper would head north on the Bagmati's right bank. No such luck.
Our hare had to stand at the end of the 199.9 m backcheck and call
the pack up the hill and onto paper heading south and down. We passed
the walkers heading in the opposite direction -- more confusion. Another
back check at a brick kiln again left the front runners wandering.
Hurry Krishna was soon off and
down on paper to a check in lower rice fields. Paper headed down to
the river and then climbed to a pretty temple on a bluff -- a great
place for a holding check. The last time Don
set one there was in 1988, the morning of his departure from Nepal.
That time paper crossed the river. This time we were luckier and headed
east to the next check below Sano Kokana. Paper skirted the village
and dropped down on the trail to Kokana and another back check. We
wandered up towards the usual holding check on a bump, and then took
paper up the valley along the usual irrigation ditch and the next
check just below Towed Hall. Paper went down and then up to the housing
area and a long gently sloping run home.
The Score somehow got back into positive territory with a 9.9 We were invaded by Virgins: |

Grant Bursek got the hash crash award and an extra drink for insisting in washing up. Somehow Grumblewald did not get an award -- upstaged by all those virgins.! Hashshit to Jono Lineen for being a slob -- a hard reward to get for there is lots of competition in this group.
