Breaking news:
FOX DECLARES GENERAL AMNESTY FOR HASH WANKERS
Hash internal relationships leapt to suddenly new highs this afternoon,
when The Fox stopped all punishments
to hash wankers. The Fox noted
that Nepal's security forces are strictly enforcing their "no
wanking" rules at all checkpoints. It is important that the
peace-loving international Himalayan Mixed Hash not appear to
be taking sides in Nepal's internal conflicts.
Veteran Hasher Hem Sherpa welcomed
the declaration. "During the On-On, we had to stand before
gale force winds as the winter's first rain approached."
He said, and added: "We were in a 'Wank-or-die' situation."
The Fox added, "If the
Hash Mismanagement can go off wanking around the world, why can't
those stuck in the rain here not have a little relaxation?"
It is expected that the HMH Kangaroo Court will challenge the amnesty,
but for now our hands are warm.
During the wonderful Christmas run, there was some consternation
over the mismanagement's abandonment of its duties .
Tibet Gal refused to let the
run collapse, and quickly conscripted Apple
to help out. He later reneged and will be dealt with later. Tibet
Gal then ferreted The Fox
out of his temporary retirement den, and got a promise to run
the circle.
Yogi Hare ended up with the
Hashit because of the run's
start. The "800 meters from the ring road" distance
tripled, but put us at an excellent on-on site. He marked the
way clearly so Griot was shown
no mercy for missing the parking spot. Juan
Carlos was thrilled with the site which was perfect for
flying his classy kite. The kite impressed a live kite the smartest
of the three mutts, while totally confusing the least smart. The
Fox wanted to see if it would carry away the smallest hash
mutt, but Peter objected.
Finally twenty runners and three mutts arrived and were off east
to check 1, then north across the road for the start of a climb
most expected would end at a monastery. Checks 2 and 3 brought
us along the west side of the monastery ridge to holding check
4. We dropped to the Ichangu Narayan valley and started towards
the temple, through check 5. The merciful hares took us across
the valley and down through the quarry, then up to the Adeshwar
Mahadev Temple for holding check 6. Druba
took the walkers straight to the chariots, while Yogi,
who had provided only "small" climbs so far, took us
straight up the motor road until it leveled out in a pine forest
at check 7. He then dropped us to Sita Paila school, down through
a new housing development, to another favorite terrain of his,
stream running. After check 8 he let the pack scramble back in
through fields. He let The Fox
try a "shortcut" which brought him home dead last.
Tibet Gal provided great snacks
(popcorn, potatoes chips, fried chyura, vegetarian mo-mo's and
CHANG!). The chang did not work so well for down-downs, but was
a welcome substitute to beer. We welcomed virgins Navaraj
Ghimire (who deals in the REAL hash), and the mutt Phoebe.
There was a slight altercation between Maria
and Peter as to whether or not
this was the mutt's first run (It ran on Christmas, but came three
hours late.) and as to who was responsible for it. The solution
was that both drank along with Navaraj.
We welcomed Returnees Alex Clark
(last run at the age of about 9 in 1988), Craig
Seashoals (Last around in 1992), and Jyoti
Kafle (around Kathmandu but hiding for the last several
months).
Griot claimed that a traffic
jam at Kalanki kept Alex and
him away from the start - hardly an excuse for one driving with
CD blue plates! They were punished.
Yogi got the Hashit
for lying about the location.
After the short circle we continued with social chang drinking.
Many thanks to the hares for an excellent course and to Tibet
Gal for the super food and DRINK!
