I think this is the right way up - GM

Another bumper turn out this week again. Must be a sign that winter's over.
So it was that 61 hashers gathered at Night Owl's other site on a balmy Saturday afternoon to chase paper for an hour or so and be abused by the Master for a similar period thereafter. Around the usual time of 14.10 the circle was formed and the Hares asked to explain themselves. Craig, who hasn't done it for 13 years or so, was nominated as explainer in-chief by the other two. Six checks were announced with at least number 4 holding, the usual river crossings and probably the usual Night Owl 2km false trails.

So off we set in a south-easterly direction for a change, looping round to the east and Check One. Thereafter, I've little idea what happened as I found the first falsie and, noticing paper beyond the X headed further on, despite exhortations from Night Owl to return, and found another X. Was this a double warning or a double cross? I opted for the double cross and didn't see paper again until approach Holding Check 4, having picked up the pack somewhere along the way.

Delightfully sited at the end of a ridge, there was only one way from here - down. No-one fell for the visible paper heading up the neighbouring ridge but most fell for the false trail, ably led by yours truly again. Duckbill couldn't find the paper either, although we heard and saw the pack occasionally between there and Check 5 where contact was made with the tail end of the pack. A slight variation on the home run from the last Tokha run (although Check 6 was on the same shingle bank in the river as on Run ??? (anybody remember, or want to? - GM) and, with the usual impeccable Night Owl timing, the walkers and runners arrived home simultaneously.

Down downs were as follows:

Hares: for a 9.9, despite double crosses etc
Virgins: Sara, something to do with an ADB project, Ella who was invited by her friends and Karsten and Kamma, members of the procession of Viaggro Visitors. Krawly Karsten told the GM that this was the best hash he'd ever been on and the Master responded that Karsten was the best virgin he'd ever had. Seems like a 1-1 draw to me.
Newcomers: Geoff, another master of the impossible (engineer on Melamchi), Chris who has just arrived from a really tough posting to the Bahamas to join the best project team in the land, and a New Clear Gynaecologist who didn't give his name but could have been another Chris.
Returnees: Marina, Akshey and Road Runner looking distinctly porky after his sojourn in the UK

The Master then ensured that everyone knew this was his 200th run. After we got over this hurdle a few more (important) down downs were awarded:

Crashers: Grate Dane and the GM
Double Wankers: Reinhard and the Padre
Hashit: Towed because nobody was interested by then and he volunteered in order to keep the proceeds moving along
Men of Leisure: The Fox and Keeled Over for either managing a Tuesday Run last week or planning one for this. (actually, running on Tuesday AND Thursday - GM)

There being a total lack of interest in any further proceedings other than social drinking, the Master wisely declared it so.

Thanks to Mrs Rotter for the catering and to the Hares for an excellent run.
