I wonder if this photo was as out-of-focus as a lot of Tadpole's. See next photo. GM

U.S. AID STAFF TRAINING ENDS SUCCESSFULLY

Lalitpur, 27 March:

Today, the U.S. AID program reached new heights on the completion of its first ever Hash Hare Training Program for its staff. The organization was so concerned about the success of the training, that it freed the local Director to personally run the training, with considerable guidance from Connie and advance planning from the three mutts. Senior consultant Naren, a veteran of hash mismanagement (c.f. Hash Trash for the Last Bhaisipati run), received the honour of being the first trainee. The AID administrators are bracing themselves for a rush of trainee applications next week.

The run was so successful that even a disappointed Grumblewald, who did not get to visit the Chobar temple today, after a few free beers, reluctantly admitted that the 11 check marathon was good. It was so good that veteran harriers Run Crafty, Beaufort, and Fox, along with Virgin Hari, checked from check 1 to check 9 in one shot. Connie took the walkers on a compassionately short stroll, while the pack headed north from the dog house to check 1, and then across the main Bungamati road and down to the Nakhu Khola. They crossed the motorable bridge below Nakhipot and worked their way up the stream's right bank to the bamboo bridge below Lowachowk. The Tuesday Run Trail took them back up to the road just short of the first Bungamati Tree. Check 9 was there. Paper followed the irrigation ditch to back check 10, and on to holding check 11 below Towed Hall. That left a long and gently downhill run home, where the runners could impress the youngsters hanging around outside the Hindu prayer tents. One notes that Roadrunner and Marina seemed to follow their own course.

We welcomed several virgins, some of whom hung around long enough for free beer:

Hari, who will attempt to guide Pickled Fart on a trek to Manang and Jomsom via Tilicho Lake and assorted Maoist training camps.
Ramesh Shrestha from Sat-Do-Bato, who cleverly fooled the Grand Master into giving him a few extra free beers.
Some ladies who wisely ran away early.

Visitors:

Big One from Dhaka - an expert wanker
Michael Luhan - another expert wanker, visiting from Geneva via Delhi. Michael ran with us on and off until 1992.
Pickled Fart - from London, who is to attack Lamjung District (see above), who was at the run because he "had to be bloody somewhere."
