Hares on Hips

Night Owl and John

Who is the subject of such rapture?

Line, Viaggro and false promises

Is this another outbreak of Hashit envy?

Having sent this trash for publication after Hash 1373 I suppose the Scribe can be forgiven for omitting this little detail.

First paper was up past the Gompa, through the terraces and back down to the main river with one check on the way. Check 2 was a massive back check before a climb up to join the walkers before we dropped off the road down into the pines to Holding Check 3. It was then down into the bottom of the valley and up the other side, although it appeared that the pack took some time to sort this one out, with Beership Down eventually finding Towed somehow, but Keeled leading the way on paper.

From here the trail headed up to the forest again via Check 4, then swung east before climbing up and up to Holding Check 6, led there by Shrivelled, Night Owl, Keeled and Beership Down (Fast Forward please note your protégé's prowess!). We could see the walkers way down in the valley from here and had a fine view of the stragglers in the pack struggling up the hill. Yogi took pity on those at the very back and offered them a shortcut. Night Owl, Towed, Grumblewald and Shrivelled led the pack down from here onto more level ground. Not sure what happened thereafter as I ended up on a bit of a walkabout after the next check, but it was reassuring to hear that only one hasher, John, had visited Holding Check 9, and that only because, being at the back of the pack he had been guided there by Yogi.

After waiting a while for stragglers to come in, the Stand in Master, Towed, called the circle to order. The Hares were awarded a 9.9 despite an official protest from Night Owl who argued that since Check 9 had not existed for all but one of the pack, the award should have been 8.8.

Other down-downs were awarded to:

Keeled Over for being there (and for interfering)
Visitor John, working in human rights (so this should be a short visit!)
Latecomers The Fox and Zamila (for last week)
Grumblewald, for not paying attention
Night Owl and John, not sure why
Shrivelled, because
New shoes and laces - Beership Down and The Fox
John for being, according to Shrivelled, the shortest American in the world
Line and Viaggro for heretical T-shirts, advertising for such outdated values as Peace, Justice and Democracy
Melamchi Man, Night Owl, for boring the pack during most of the run with details of what bits of Melamchi would eventually be built where.
Shrivelled again
The pampered Ever Ready

Rebecca managed to escape a down-down for sitting in the circle as she said the hash had made her feel ill. A well known feeling, but usually when Rotter's in charge, not me! Finally, the Hashit was awarded to Moosette, nominated by that gentleman Griot, for having two exhaust pipes on her car. Also because she's never had it before.

Thanks to the Hares for another good run. Thanks also to Mrs Rotter (in absentia (why does nobody thank Mr Rotter for being in absentia - GM)) and Ever Ready for the hash catering.
