Horrific Hashits

Loverboy organized an excellent team of hares, and oversaw a peaceful afternoon, the peace mainly due to our two favorite MASTER BAITERS being in hiding in western Nepal. Some old timers in their pre-run banter noted how the end of last week's already pretty exciting afternoon had been almost as spectacular as the famous Christy Creely Crash on a March 1991 morning during the Second Hash Weekend. Consult Hash Historians for details.

A pack of 39 runners and a couple of mutts gathered at the great parking area above the lake and proceeded to pick hash paper out of their vehicles' radiators as the turnoff from the main road had been littered with a run's worth of paper. Loverboy started the event by sending the runners off in the wrong direction, but eventually somebody found paper heading to check 1 of the 8 check romp. Paper dropped into the valley and then up to the west rim, before dropping again and climbing up and up, eventually to check 7 at the temple on the hill. It then looped down and back up to the pond. More discerning runners settled for visits to only checks 3, 5, and 6; before following the walkers home.

With a squall approaching, the Fox called the pack quickly to order, and thanked the hares for their work, while ignoring Alida's cries that Steffen had not returned. The Hashit went to horrors Sock Sucker, Mustard Fart, and Christopher, for getting covered in mud from head to foot whilst their parents were off trying to follow paper.

The hares then bribed the Fox to go and find Steffan who turned up soon after the Fox had cycled off towards Godavari. Steffan explained how he had somehow managed to find his way to Chapagaon, and had then headed back north towards the Ring Road following the paper that had been laid to guide cars to the start point! As everybody left, Steffan, Alida and their lonely white Maruti Gypsy were left looking plaintively for the Fox (ed. who had probably pocketed the bribe and headed off to Godavari to see his mates).
