Roaring Ball
We were here, but we went for a walk instead of organizing a hash last week
A much more deserving recipient than Grumblewald |
Days
of rain; even Saturday morning rain; but Saturday afternoon brought clear
skies and clean air – a perfect time for a drive or bike trip, and
maybe a little jogging. After a leisurely lunch, the Fox
mounted his chariot and headed south. Assorted hashers raced by him in their
larger chariots. As the Fox pumped into
Godamchaur, he saw the motley mob heading south along the road, and was
touched to the heart of his bottom to discover that they had almost waited
for him. A quick check of the walkers found that they were under Peggy’s
guidance, with professional observation from the walkers’ grandfather,
Itchy Balls.
The Fox almost reached check one, in the usual quarry, just in time to have Pakesy put him onto paper which lead down and left on the irrigation ditch. Kid’s paper sent the front runners down steps, but finally the back runners headed on to check two where Grumblewald and Rotter, having run through a false trail X, were waiting. Paper continued up the road a while, and then headed up to the summit of Murali Mountain, and a holding check. Hurry Krishna and the Fox did not see much value in such a climb, so headed directly to Bishankhu Narayan. On the way they got to visit the Lovely Ladies, a few pets, and their guides. One suspects that most hashers did not attempt to pass through the crack in the temple rock, in order to prove their innocence. It was restful to hear, and then see, the mob storm down to the temple, and then climb up, Rabi in the lead. He and the Fox followed paper down the road to a back check. Paper went up and left, until we found the steepest of pastures on the left. Down we slid, feeding hungry leeches. Paper headed north and down from the holding check, and then dropped back from the road. Again Pakesy had mercy on the Fox and got him on course. As usual, the Fox went the wrong way at the final check, but again had a chance to visit with Itchy Balls and the Lovely Ladies on the home run. Others wandered in from somewhere. Once the GM (Gaph Master in Nepali), got the circle arranged, he quickly honoured the head hare and conscripted assistant, and welcomed virgins and returnees. The Fox unjustly got the hashit which should have gone to Grumblewald who AGAIN ignored a false trail sign. The circle’s Guest of Honour was Itchy Balls, who along wth his Home Minister, had just celebrated their fortieth wedding anniversary. He quickly proved that he could out roar the GM. The GM picked on the usual wankers and took great pleasure in observing Japanese drinking abilities. It was later noted that the Japanese also drive rather carefully after drinking -- a good lesson to be learned! It was further noted that there WERE people ready to meet last week, though the GM ignored them and escaped unpunished. Thanks to Durga and the Rotters Roost kitchen for the delicious food supplies, and to Etienne and family for taking on next week’s duties. |
