Howe's This? After some rather confusing ‘and changed at the last minute’ directions to the on-on site at a small temple just west of Sano Khokana beside the Bagmati, the proceedings eventually got started with the usual half-hour delay. The GM must really get his act together and exercise some authority and management regarding getting the show on the road on time. [ed. surely it’s ‘off the road’?]. Hurry K and Victim were the happy hares with Victim leading off the walkers (not so long ago ‘old Victim’ would have been seen taking off with the runners) and HK used all his speed, stamina and traffic control skills (was he ever a traffic cop in KMD?) to shepherd everyone along. This was due to the obvious lack of paper and its poor quality. This has become a major concern (GM). Apparently his driver and the staff at the BC (Victim’s daily rest home) had to spent three days cutting up headed note paper using scissors and the result was long and straggly and miniscule pieces which just ‘blew away with the wind’. [ed.: Howe’s That? go easy on the acronyms OK. This is not a DFID report!]. The runners headed over the Bagmati on a very rickety home-made bridge and headed southeast before again crossing the ‘shuck’ and heading north and eventually, via a long torturous route, back over the new footbridge south of Khokana and through Khokana to the start. Again the runners made it back before the walkers. A good one and half hour hash with a few uphills (a notable one being a holding check on a small hill where Yogi climbed the single dead tree on the top and Keeled likened the profile of the hill to a --------? Hash modesty and censorship prevents publication of the term [ed. ‘Hash Nipple’] as the GM requires very high standards. [ed. of what? I’ve never noticed.] A certain Irishman and his Canadian counterpart were noticed taking a shortcut back to the OnIn with excuses of “I just spent two weeks on the beach and was tired (the Tic Mik [aka Two Turds?]), and, “I am recovering from the flu”. This is totally unacceptable hash behaviour and the GM needs to take some strong action against the culprits. The poor GM-stress and her wee dog had a bad day. On one occasion she and her ‘wee dog’ were being attacked by all the village dogs and in the process she tripped, fell heavily and as all proud ladies do bounced straight back up again and kept running, insisting she was ok. Later the ‘wee dog’ cut its paw badly and had to be rescued and taken off to the vet’s. Let’s hope all is well with both of them (well, the dog anyway - GM). The circle eventually got started although a lot of hashers had succumbed to the cold wind and sneaked off. A time management course might be an idea for the GM. A few newcomers, returnees and misdemeanours were down-downed and the Hashit was given to some poor sole [sick — Dingaling] who made an impassioned speech commending some other poor sole [sick — aka Doggy Style] who is apparently giving away free laptops to everyone in Nepal (hopefully it was the beer which inspired this). Thanks to the GM’s good wife who passed around the carrot cake and thanks to Hurry K and Victim for organising the trail (I do not think a final score was agreed upon – but this scribe awards the run a 9.9). (Where was the scribe during the scoring? I first awarded a 3.3 for the lack of visible paper. This did not satisfy the circle so that, under considerable pressure, I had to make a small revision to 9.9 - GM) Thanks to the Scribe for his First Attempt. You're Hired. |
